Dr. Umer Ahmed, MD, MBA, FAAFP

Dr. Umer Ahmed is a board-certified family medicine physician with more than 10 years of experience in hospital medicine and emergency care. At Spring Emergency Room in Spring, Texas, he provides compassionate, patient-centered evaluation and treatment for acute illnesses, injuries, and medical emergencies.

Dr. Ahmed earned his medical degree from the University of Illinois at Chicago and completed his family medicine residency at Duke University Medical Center. He also holds an MBA in Healthcare Management from Columbia University and a Master’s Certificate in Health Sciences with a focus on Clinical Leadership from Duke University. He is certified by the American Board of Family Medicine and is a Fellow of the American Academy of Family Physicians.

His expertise includes acute medical care, complex medical conditions, emergency procedures, and quality improvement. His leadership experience includes regional oversight of 26 hospital medicine programs, and his honors include Envision Gulf Coast Site Medical Director of the Year and recognition for outstanding regional medical leadership. Dr. Ahmed speaks English, Spanish, and Urdu.
